Read before you attempt tree removal on your own!

I thinned out the forest on three sides of my house and bought this out of curiosity. The section on felling difficult trees is nothing short of clever and not exactly intuitive either. I was spared immense injury and property damage. This book is well illustrated and a must have for anyone attempting DYI tree removal. I eventually hired a tree service but what I learned enabled me to clear out the dead ceders and invasive Hackberry trees on my own.

Worth Reading

This book covers everything about cutting down trees safely while you are on the ground and how to cut up the trees after they have fallen. This includes using ropes, pulleys, chain saws and axes. This book doesn't cover climbing trees or cutting while in a tree.

A MUST read for any wood cutter!

I've been cutting wood for 20 years and thought I knew just about everything there is when it comes to the subject but I was wrong This book is well written and provides a ton of extremely useful information that everyone from a beginner to a seasoned logger can learn from.
