MAA AANKH: Finding God the Afro-American Spiritual Way,

Are you made in the image of God? According to Genesis 1:26 -and other holy books- we all are but when crack cocaine first hit the streets of North America in the mid 1980s. Black and Latino communities throughout the country were devastated as the death toll for young males between the ages of 14 and 21 sharply climbed due to crack related crimes. In this extraordinary memoir of self-discovery, Derric Moore shares how he lost his faith in God due to religious dogma, politics and lack of spiritual training, during those times. It was only after receiving startling instructions to study the Ancient Egyptians, in order to learn how they built their society using the Power of God. Followed by spiritual insecurities, financial problems, homelessness, heartbreaking relationships and a debilitating illness. He discovered a spiritual blueprint inspired by the Bantu Kongo Cross but based upon the Ancient Egyptian concepts and principles, called the maa aankh that helped him to re-connect to God by realizing his divinity. Through the maa aankh, which roughly means -To Swear an Oath to God to Live Truth - Derric was able to tap into the power of God in order to overcome personal trials and tribulations - generational curses, financial woes and health issues. If you re tired of searching for answers, tired of feeling disenchanted, powerless, and you are not afraid of learning about the past in order to bring about positive change. This book is for you. Based upon the author's personal experience and quest to better understand God, MAA AANKH provides the layperson and expert with simple advice to navigate through the sea of life.

Review

Maa Aankh by Derric Moore is like nothing you've read before. Memoir, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Jeremiad, Manifesto and Spiritual Quest, its all these and more. This is a Sacred Text that refuses to fit into preconceived boundaries. It is a Revelation. Not only that, it is a timely revelation. A book for our times and a book for the ages. Derric Moore has poured his heart and soul into this work. What makes it so profoundly rewarding is that it is a work of high concept told in an easily approached and digested voice. It s as if a friend were standing there talking to you. You find yourself immersed and by the end of this text, transformed. This work is magical, this work is real. The accessibility allows Derric Moore, in his manifestation as Rau Khu, to explore concepts that would otherwise be daunting to both the initiated and the lay reader. They will all enjoy reading this work; they will all find threads of illumination and wonder. If you don t buy but one book for your spiritual library this is it. His account of his spiritual quest is at the same time both familiar and unique. From his first stumbling steps in understanding through the lessons inherent in a crippling struggle with lupus to a full grown cosmology, the reader is taken on a journey that weaves the threads of his quest into a cosmic cloth. This is the work of an original thinker. It is a personal vision grounded in both Egyptian theology and Afrospiritual thought and practice but what makes this work special is a love for humanity that shines through every word. This is the real thing, timeless knowledge told through the struggle of a unique soul grown deep through both victories and defeats. It is difficult to acknowledge evolved souls in our lifetime, but in this work we see that each generation produces its own. So often works like this are pretentious and overwrought, written by souls and writers not up to the task. This work will satisfy the most demanding reader, the most accomplished seeker. This is the real thing. This is Sacred Literature.

The Maa Aank is a powerful Kamitic symbol that has been annexed with the ancient Bantu Kosmogram as taught by Dr.Fu Kiau Benseke, which is the basis for metaphysics across the board, including alchemy, cosmology, human evolution and psychological science.

Good Content
By D Cookie
This Book is not only good reading, but it is informative. The book is nothing like I thought it would be. I thought that it would have been just an analytical book, but instead it reads like some of the other autobiographies out on the market today. I would recommend this book for your library. The book is more about a African (Black) Americans male's quest for a relationship with God.

The Path Many Have Traveled And Have Yet To Talk About
By CultureFreedom
I must commend the author on sharing the story of a journey that many of us have traveled and continue to travel but often not talked about. During highschool and entering college beginning a spritual journey of exploration and awakening. Challenging the accepted religion given to many of us as kids and how it left us with many spiritual questions and feeling disconnected from our African roots. Exploring African systems and how we often get caught up in the romanticicsm and mysticism of African systems and miss the practicality of the systems. Then at some point you find the balance betweeen having a spiritual connection to the Creator, connecting to your culture and being able to have a sprituality that works in your everyday life. The author gives you a transperant view of his journey with all the obstacles and turns. I commend his honesty, the kind of honesty that will transform the lives of many.

Good Read
By C. Bolden
This book caused me to reflect on my ever evolving spiritual journey. I could identify strongly with the author's Pentecostal roots and the backlash of thinking outside of that paradigm. Reading this book provided intellectual stimulation while walking one through a difficult journey of a African American man finding his spiritual purpose. I recommend this book, and I look forward to read more of this author's work.
