About the Author

This is exactly the book I was looking for. Having been thrown into a very challenging middle school classroom and no previous experience with that age group, this book helped tremendously with positively dealing with all of the different behaviors.

This is a great resource for really specific strategies for dealing with all types of classroom management issues, from simply not following class procedures and not doing classwork or handing in homework, to yelling, cursing, threatening, and worse. It explains the many possible reasons for these types of behaviors and give positive behavioral and academic strategies for heading them off to begin with, and for correcting them and teaching the students how to self-correct. Should be required summer reading before new teachers as well as seasoned.
