About the Author

James D. Agresti is a former atheist who became a Christian after reading the Bible over the course of a year and finding objective evidence for its accuracy. Mr. Agresti holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University and has worked as a designer of jet aircraft engines, a technical sales professional, and a chief engineer of a firm that customizes helicopters. He is a cofounder and president of Just Facts, a research and educational institute dedicated to investigating, documenting, and publishing facts about public policy issues.

This book, Rational Conclusions, is an experience!! The top front of the hardback cover has (with white lettering and blue background) the title and author's name. Below this is an attention-grabbing multicolored mélange of about two dozen topics considered in the text, e.g. reason, faith, physics, embryology, credibility and microbiology.

In Addition to the above-named topics the CONTENTS includes Ancient History, Science, Archaeology, Ancient Manuscripts, Cosmology, Biogenesis, Genetics, The Fossil Record, and Authentic Christianity. With such a breadth of topics we are tempted to suspect a superficial coverage. Yet to my amazement Agresti has done an astonishing job of supporting his conclusions, citing 2,556 references. Talk about documentation!! However, the Citations and Searchable Electronic Index are not in the book, but may be obtained at [...]. There are hundreds of pages of references and additional comments.

Author Agresti is a Brown University graduate and "a former atheist who became a Christian after reading the Bible over the course of a year and finding objective evidence for its accuracy" (back cover). This was at a time in his life when he "was looking for flaws and contradictions" because he thought that the Bible was just fiction (p. 306).

Agresti now clearly is opposed to large scale evolution and says that the "fossil evidence is mangled by evolutionary presumptions" (p. 276). He proclaims that "detailed and well-substantiated evidence points to creation, while on the contrary, the case for evolution is built upon murky data and shaky inferences." (p. 277).

A right book for the times: Rational Conclusions

This fresh approach taken by James D. Agresti in his book, Rational Conclusions, is bound to tickle your intellect. You may be an atheist or a skeptic, but I can assure you that if you read this book carefully, even if you don't become a believer in the power and presence of God, at least it will gnaw at you to keep on thinking.

Drawing from the fields of Science, Archeology, Genetics, Paleontology, and others, Agresti makes a convincing case to become a believer. I highly recommend this book to believers and non-believers alike. It is truly a labor of love.

Well written, has portions that are slow going, but if wrestling with or for the truth of God's Word it is a valuable resource. And James closes the book with Chapter 10 - Authentic Christianity. An challenge to believers!

Business school changed the way I see the world, and more importantly, opened doors for me to explore new things, travel around the world, and work with some of the most respected global business leaders. And it all started with a simple thought of wanting to get an MBA, and a few simple steps I took to prepare for the GMAT.

It was late January in 2005 when I decided to apply for business schools. The deadlines are in early March, which means on top of getting letters of recommendations, writing personal essays, and getting the applications ready, I have to take the GMAT within a month of time. I didn't have the luxury of time to compare different prep courses or to find a perfect tutor, so I decided to tackle the test in my own way. Fortunately, after a lot of hard work, I came out of the test center surprised and ecstatic.

I never thought I could score a near perfect score (780 out of 800) on the GMAT, not to mention doing so within that one month of studying time I had.

I've always wanted to share this experience with people who are thinking about taking the GMAT but don't know where to start. I started writing this book after business school while working at Sony Headquarter Strategy Office in Tokyo and it took me almost two years to finish. In this book, I share with you how I planned my study, how I kept myself motivated, some of the mistakes I made, and techniques I found most useful. You might find this book different from other test preparation books, as it is very personal about my own experience. But hopefully you will learn a few things that can help you with your test preparation.

If there is one piece of advice I can give to future GMAT takers, it would be to plan ahead and commit to your study plan. The GMAT is not rocket science, and with dedication and hard work, you too will be able to achieve the score you want.

About the Author
Founder/owner of a creative entertainment studio, Brandon Wu is a 30-year-old entrepreneur who believes that everything is possible. Failing the SAT in high school did not stop him from getting into the university of his dreams. After two transfers and countless hours of hard work he eventually graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with an Economics degree. (BA Econ,2002)


After university Brandon enjoyed spending most of his energy in the high-tech industry working with passionate artists and intelligent engineers. However, in the cold San Francisco February of 2005, he decided to leave and pursue new opportunities in the world of business just one month before the deadline for all the business schools he wanted to apply. With so much to study for the GMAT, and not much time, he developed a unique way to study that enabled him to score 780 (99 percentile) on the GMAT within a short amount of time. He received his MBA from Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California) with a scholarship.


After business school, Brandon worked as a Manager in the strategy division at the Sony headquarters in Tokyo where he spent much of his time with top executives from all over the world incubating new ideas and analyzing existing businesses. While at Sony Brandon was featured on Sony's global website as a success story of Sony's MBA Program. 30 DAY GMAT SUCCESS was written during these years in Japan. Everyday after work, Brandon would find a quiet coffee shop, and write down the journey he took while preparing for the GMAT hoping that his experience would one day benefit others who are in the similar dire situation he once was with just one month left to prepare for the GMAT.



Brandon left Sony in December 2009 to follow his entrepreneurial heart. He now lives in sunny California with his amazing wife.

Data Sufficiency Zero to Hero

This books is worth the money just for the Data Sufficiency advice that Brandon gives you. Data Sufficiency has to be the most hated section on the GMAT, but after reading through this section in the book and practicing Brandon's strategy i have greatly improved. I'm talking i have gone from a Data Sufficiency zero to hero. This book gives you the strategies you will need to get a great score on the GMAT. That is the difference between this book and many other GMAT books available. His study plan can be complicated and is not for everyone, but the real gold is the strategies that are found in this book.

This book is fairly useless for anyone who knows the basics about applying to business school - Where to register for thr GMAT, How much it costs, Rescheduling the test etc. All this information is pretty much available online, you don't need a book for that. It doesnt really provide a "1-Month-Study-Plan" as the name seems to suggest. It gives a very high level overview of the topics and by no means does it even cover 50% of the topics. I thought it was a total waste of money. I would stick to online forums and studying actively.

Easily the worst GMAT book I have run across

Unfortunately, I strongly agree with the other reviewers who gave negative comments: this book is a complete waste of money, and it likely won't help you with your GMAT preparation.

The author aced his test -- great job! However, doing it and teaching it are quite different things in practice. I don't doubt that the author intends to convey his success tips to help others, but the content of the book does not help his cause.

First, the book is printed double-spaced throughout; it therefore provides less content than what 184 pages suggest. Second, "Introduction: The GMAT" and "Study Schedule" chapters occupy the first 52 pages, leaving even fewer pages to cover anything related to essential knowledge or skills.

Moreover, when the book does get to the technical, the discussions are extremely light and lacking in depth. Here's a complete section on "The Best Piece of Advice" on AWA (remember, everything is double-spaced):

I basically went through the entire book in half hour without learning anything worthwhile. Your mileage may vary, but my own experience with the book is far less than satisfactory.

Glorious history of rock music and KSHE 95

Stunning and beautiful, this book is a glorious history of rock music, groups, concerts and the radio station that made it all happen - KSHE 95. The national role this St. Louis station played in the foundation of US rock music is almost beyond belief. The pictures and archival material makes this a book to read, share and treasure. The personalities involved are huge, especially that of GM Shelley Grafman who shines brightly in a book with many stars. JD

I bought this book for husband. He absolutely could not put in down - watching and hearing his reactions as he read through it were great. Photos are amazing. If you were a concert goer or fan of KSHE "back in the day"....get this book :)

i loved this book. it had a lot of history in it. the history of music in st.louis. also the history of radio stations in st. louis. k-she played a major role in the st. louis area for rock history. this book brought back a lot of memories. the dj's, the music, and the stories. the stories in this book are fabulous. some are funny,some are not. the pictures are great too. photos of mick and kieth richards sitting at the chase hotel pool, of ticket stubs, and a lot more. too many to list. if you are from st. louis and listened to k-she through the years this book is for you. if you are not from st. louis and love rock and roll and the history of it,get this book. it will be one of the best books you have bought in a while.

A gift for you and old dogs

If canines hold a special place in your heart this book will too. Do Old Dogs Dream makes a great gift for dog lovers. While the book is about old dogs, it isn't a bit sad. It celebrates their dignity, love and devotion in way that might bring a tear to your eye but never in heartbreak. Giving the proceeds to help old dogs is the icing on the Milk Bone.

About the Author
Takerra Allen was born in Jersey City, NJ and resides in Somerset, NJ. In addition to being an Author, she is the CEO of an all female Entertainment Company entitled Heaven Inc., and the half sister to the late renowned Tupac Shakur (sharing the same biological father, former Black Panther, William Garland). She is also an active Community Activist and is working toward a Docorate Degree in Psychology. Takerra and her fellow members of Heaven Inc., have launched Angelic Script Publishing to give new edgy writers a chance to demonstrate their talent and to give readers and lovers of Contemporary Fiction, new and exciting books to fall in love with.

I feel so in love with these characters. 4 friends with a tight bond. You have the rich kid, the headstrong one, the nut job and the freak. They have mad love for each other and the men in their lives until jealousy puts a wrap on that. Neli is the worst and everything was her fault. I loved Kim spirit and she could peep the BS from a mile away. But Ree, that man it like a God send. I love the way the author depicted his character. As ruthless as his personality is her still had a heart of pure gold.

I am pretty new to Takerra's books, each one I've read has just rung me dry of emotions, until at the end I'm spent, and usually sad, yet I keep reaching for the next one. Well done 's. Lady, well done.
