I am watching Fear Factor...this narcissistic excuse for a man talks a girl into jumping into the water that doesnt know how to swim. Then he leaves her when she is struggling and starting to drown. He cares nothing for that girl or for anyone other than himself. One word...Pathetic

Review of The Ultimate Voice

While reading I viewed various YouTube clips to look more closely at who OR is, as there are some key media criticisms people say, "Oh isn't he the fellow who..." But the book was incredibly refreshing, dispelling some of the negativity I grew up with from people who did not really propose the love of God, that God is good, and his discussions on the Holy Spirit are again, hitting home as truthful for God's work to each of us, rather than people telling and expecting of God what to do by their own stanards of control on others. He gives honest insight into his life, at age 90, and this is his last book before passing on at age 91. I am amazed at the man and this book is clearly at the top of many books I have read on healing, faith, and the Holy Spirit. I have no issues with his content, and putting context into his life, the clips I mentioned, how he felt and spoke, all of it fits with utmost sincerity, so I myself am not concerned over the criticisms. And I think he is giving the right message on the importance to looking to God in prayer and all ways we can all come together for healing for one another, and the sense of that as a blessing, and how we are meant to work together. Not just instant miraculous healings, but respect among all of our professions and working together for wholeness. Some of it may sound odd if some of the ways he speaks of things have not been in your experience, so I would urge to not bother about what is hard, but to get a sense of the grace around this man, and the freedom of right approach to the Holy Spirit and so on, that this book offers.

Great for Spiral Growth

If you are looking to deepen your relationship with God, this is a must read. Or even if you want to learn more about Oral Roberts, this book gives a lot of insight to the man he truly was.

From a personal stanza, each time I would open this book to read it, the presence of God would grow so strong that I would be moved to tears. It was evident that God was speaking to me through what Oral Roberts wrote. Not the same may be true for every person, but i would recommend this short read to everyone!

A Cat Life is Great!

I thought this book was great! A Cat Life makes a very funny, witty, inteligent sets of dialogue from the main character Camila, while being an easy, flowy read. In her mild state of psychosis, Camila constantly questions herself, sometimes through punishments of self-pity and self-destruction... but even still... the text is too funny and eloquent to not want to read it until the end! Like the book says, it is a "anti-love" story... but a very satisfying one. There is no "bs" in this book... Camila says it like it is! Love it! Besides Clarah Averbuck's direct and informal style of writing instantly connects the reader to Camila, her book made me feel like I was talking to one of my eclectic friends! Highly recommend this book.

About the Author
Dan Valenti is an noted baseball author whose works have been widely cited and anthologized. Eleven of his 15 books have been on the game. He is a "four decade" baseball author, with his first title being published in 1979. Valenti is a frequent guest on radio and TV shows. For 14 years, he hosted his own general-interest, daily talk show ("The Dan Valenti Show" heard in New England). Dan also hosted a Boston Red Sox pre-game radio show in the mid 1980s. Dan is adjunct professor of English at Berkshire Community College and is a frequent speaker. He lives with his wife Paula in Stockbridge, Mass.

Chevron Really Does Not Like Electric Cars

I remember in the late 90's hearing about Saturn's EV-1 100% electric car. You could only get one in a couple of states and you couldn't buy it. They were all leased. Then they had the leasors return the cars and GM crushed the cars in the desert. I thought that was the end of the story until I read Two Cents Per Mile. According to the book many of the Toyota RAV 4 100% electric SUVs are still on the road today. They were sold to a lucky few who haven't bought liquid fuel for their SUVs in over a decade! I am so jealous. Two Cents Per Mile traces the history of a collusion between oil companies and auto manufacturers that will truly get your blood boiling. For those of us who follow the electric car industry, we see the promotion of hybrids and the use of the lithium ion battery as the new solution. Chevron surrounded the NiMH (nickel hydride metal traction battery used in the Toyota RAV 4 EV) with so many patents that they can not be used to mass produce 100% electric cars. It is an outrage. The book is written by an electrical engineer and offers practical solutions to get us back on track for use of the NiMH technology, a technology far superior to the lithium ion battery.

Yep, My EV's Fuel Cost Is Exactly Two Cents Per Mile

Nevres Sefo connects all the dots in documenting the history behind one of the best-built cars of all time, the all-electric Toyota RAV4 EV. Proving once again that truth is stranger than fiction, this book shines a light on a car that goes over 100 miles on a charge and does it faster, better, and cheaper than it's internal-combustion-powered counterpart.

Nearly 1,400 of these marvels were put on the roads in California between 1998 and 2003. Hundreds were saved from the crusher due to the grassroots efforts of Plug In America (formerly [...]). These cars continue to serve their owners daily with quiet, inexpensive, and reliable electric drive. Many have over 100k miles on their odometers, still powered by the original NiMH battery packs described in Sefo's book.

To anyone who thinks that electric cars have too many limitations, and that the batteries aren't ready, you need to read this book and get your facts straight! Bravo for a book that's timely, well-researched, and easy to read.

Why isn't the mainstream press talking about this information?

Get it, read it, tell everybody you know.

The auto industry and the gov't are likely colluding to keep technology out of our hands that would save us money, clean up the environment, and get us off of foreign oil. All without wars in the Middle East.

They don't want to supply us with this tech and are actively working against someone else bringing us this tech because EVs would ruin a good cash cow for the oil and auto manufacturers.

Long term I guess what will happen is some import company will beat Detroit to it and once again the home team will be behind the curve.

EVs work NOW. The modern tech has existed for 15 years, the basic tech for over 100 years. The battery that the automakers keep saying they are waiting for exists with the large capacity NiMH batteries that Chevron and GM colluded to hide and lock away with patent encumbrance.

If there was ever a time to understand how the ruling class of this country and big business - especially big oil - controls our gov't and by extension the world - the time is now. The evidence is everywhere and right in front of us.

The Internet can show you and connect you to the people in the know. Just like advertising buries the smaller companies/brands who can't advertise as frequently as the big guys - the people in the know will not likely get any airtime or article space in the mainstream media which I feel certain is used to shape conversation and pace our society's knowledge about the world. It's a tool of large companies to distract us and tell us only what suits them to some end that makes a certain group of people rich. The most valuable information is not given away. What we get for free is old information or incomplete. Sounds a little Orwellian doesn't it?

Information is freely available to all of us but the mainstream press doesn't ask hard questions and tell the whole story. Some folks might even argue that it is impossible to squeeze that much information into a 30 minute segment, 30 second headlines or a single column article. Perhaps but if the mainstream media DID make time or space for it we'd be better off. Instead we get just tidbits of information in the easiest to find sources. A person must research to get any further into far too many topics. Funny how the NiMH batteries exist, are in use in hybrids and have worked for tens of thousands of miles but nobody in the mainstream press asks why somebody doesn't build more RAV4-EV type vehicles.

Too often the mainstream press is simply an advertising tool in disguise.

It is a poor, poor tool (the mainstream press) to use for a tool to help run a democracy.

Read this book and you'll be surprised at how much we aren't being told - even by the automotive press whose job it is to tell us about all things automotive.

IF I'm wrong about Chevron, GM or the gov't then I sure would like to hear the key players stand up and address the points made in this book specifically. My guess that they won't or if they did it would be one of those meandering answers that uses alot of words but doesn't say a thing. At the same time I don't think too many politicians would take time out of their busy bashing each schedules too really do or say anything constructive. Note that I'm not taking sides. Both sides are guilty of this. Just depends on who is in office.

This reviewer is unaware of any other Jewish craft book in recent years with such broad scope and good production values. The photos are lavish and attractive, the instructions are clear, the techniques are varied, and, in particular, the introductory information about each holiday is extremely well written. In addition to holiday crafts, there are tzedakah boxes, yahrzeit candles, a mizrah, siddur covers, and a variety of other home or gift items. This is a good resource for parents and teachers. The finished products are not especially sophisticated, but they are attractive, creative, and varied. Celebrating with Jewish Crafts is a comprehensive collection of easy to do and professional looking crafts which can be made in the classroom. Using clear directions, beautiful photography, as well as photographs of the various steps of the project, even the novice teacher will have all the students become artists. Rebeca Edid Ruzansky was born and raised in Mexico City . She has certifications in Interior Design, Teaching Techniques, and Translation. Rebeca is a craft expert who teaches crafts to young children, and has also appeared several times on a local cable program, cooking and baking for Latino audiences. She and her husband and their three daughters currently live in San Diego, CA.

One of the few real good Jewish craft books

Since the books by Mae Rockland, I haven't seen many books which are so beautifully done and with such a great variation of nice projects as this one. Definitely worth buying/ having if you like crafts or are looking for craft projects to do with groups of any age.

Best Jewish Craft Book Ever!

Celebrating with Jewish Crafts is an excellent book! As a mother and a former teacher, I use this book all the time. It gives me the chance to teach my kids about the Jewish holidays while creating beautiful and creative crafts. It is a well written book that is extremely organized that has step by step instructions that are very easy to follow. I recommend this museum quality coffee table book to everyone who loves creating beautiful crafts.

A treasure trove of amazing Jewish craft projects for the whole family

We purchased this book a year ago before the High Holy Days and have been amazed at how much we've used and enjoyed it. In fact, we have completed more than two dozen of the beautifully illustrated and detailed projects and can attest to the fact that great results can be achieved by kids and adults alike, through instructions that are accurate and easy to follow.

The Jewish calendar provides plenty of opportunities to celebrate with family and friends, and the author of this book has done an excellent job of organizing the different crafts by celebration (Passover, Chanukah, etc). This has allowed us to work on projects with our kids, while explaining to them the significance of each celebration in a fun and memorable way. In fact, for each celebration, we focused on the project that best illustrates the tradition or its spiritual significance.

This book has offered us, as a family, a welcome change of pace from the craziness of everyday life and has shed light on our People's time-honored tradition of crafting beautiful things with ingenuity and simple materials. The beautiful photos were a great enticement to get started on each project.

Thanks, Rebeca, for giving us a chance to re-visit such a great tradition. We sincerely believe that every Jewish home, school or institution should have a copy of this book.
