About the Author
Dr. David M. Hall is a distinguished corporate diversity trainer and college instructor, having taught graduate courses in The History and Ethics of Human Sexuality, Sexuality and Law, Addressing LGBTQ Issues in School, and other related topics. His long list of clients includes JP Morgan Chase, Merck, the U.S. Department of Energy, PSE&G, The Hershey Company, and The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Hall is a founding co-chair of Out & Equal Greater Philadelphia and a recipient of teaching and humanitarian awards at the national, state, and local level.

a much-needed book

I am straight; this book made me think about things I take for granted as a straight person in a workplace. It was really eye-opening, raises your awareness if you let it. It would be extremely useful to anyone in Human Resources, or anyone who needs to lead a workshop about diversity/tolerance. Although it is useful for anyone to read, it would be especially useful to workshop leaders because it has great guidelines for activities and discussions for such workshops. Every straight person should read this book.

A must read for anyone who goes to work

All too often, we do not know how to treat lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people we meet in our daily lives. Thsi can seem even more difficult in a workplace setting - what is appropriate behavior?
Dr. Hall creates a book that not only helps the reader understand the LGBT experience and empathize, but also how to integrate this into a workplace setting. Recognizing that LGBT people face hardship and discrimination, he also lays out concrete steps that one can do to become a true ally to LGBT people and help create a better workplace environment for all.
He packs this little book with research and actionable lessons, while at the same time as a writing style that is at times conversational, and makes for a very easy and enjoyable read.
