I really wanted this to be good...

This book came recommended based on other books I had purchased and rated. As someone in the same profession, I thought this would be something new and cutting edge compared to how most people view librarians. I was sorely disappointed. While the somewhat risqué content did not shock me, it did strike a nerve with how badly it was written. There was really no build up, no background, no character development, and the main character is completely self-absorbed and just not likeable. I will keep looking for something fresh and exciting about librarians.

Sexy & smart

A work of great intelligence, and yet, Sexy Librarian is endlessly entertaining. Deep readers will understand the satirical element, the inferred genre study, and the criticality with which Weist relishes in the most ridiculously constructs of the romance-novel formula. The author is a New York-based artist and librarian; the afterword is written by a librarian at the Museum of Modern Art and the book is edited by a curator at the Cooper Hewitt Museum.

Just Don't "Get" It

I have seen reviews for this book that either people love it or hate it. Maybe that is due to the style of writing and some angle the author was trying to work that I do not understand. This book is just bad. I am not shocked at how many rejection letters appear in the front from publishing companies not wanting to publish this book.
