Great Book

Being that I work Overseas, and in the middle of a large, hot and landlocked desert, I am always excited to take a "mental vacation" away from my current surroundings. Southern Crosses fit that bill perfectly, When I read it I felt as if I was transported from the bleak desert into an exciting tropical mystery surrounded by all the things I love.. i.e Boats, fishing, diving, Florida, and adventure. Thank You Mr. Annen for writing such wonderful book and I can't wait for the sequel.

I like the Mr. Food cookbooks. He does everyday cooking really well, although there are a few recipes in here that qualify for company. This book uses some prepared foods, but not too many primarily pancake & biscuit mixes and such things as frozen pizza dough & canned biscuits. Many beautiful photos

Quick and easy recipes

Mr. Food aka Art Ginsburg is known for creating quick, easy recipes that make the task of getting a meal on the table much easier. His newest cookbook Mr. Food TV Favorites contain more than 150 of his popular TV recipes. The recipes range from savory to sweet and all look easy to prepare. You will find numerous color images depicting the recipes and an interactive table of contents making navigation easy.

Here's a sample recipe from his cookbook:

Our Own Donuts
Makes 10 donuts

Vegetable oil
1 (7.5-ounce) package refrigerated country-style biscuits (10 biscuits)
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar

1 In a soup pot, heat 1 inch of oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

2 Separate biscuits and lay flat on a cutting board. Using an apple corer or plastic soda bottle cap, cut out a small circle in the centr of each biscuit, forming rings.

3 Place rings and "holes" in the hot oil a few at a time and cook 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden, turning halfway through cooking.

4 Drain donuts on a paper towel-lined platter. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve immediately.

SERVING TIP: Enjoy these as is, or sprinkled with cinnamon, drizzled with melted chocolate or a sugar glaze, or coated with frosting and some rainbow sprinkles.

I had looked for this cookbook all over, because I enjoy his little tv segments. I finally decided to check out Amazon.com. I don't know why I didn't check them out first. They always come through.
The cookbook is a very nice put together book. I haven't fixed anything out of it yet, but I have several items tagged to prepare. I am very excited about this book. The price was great, too.

Inside Looking Out: Portraits of American Bikers, the Flash Collection II is the second in an eventual three-book series unveiling the priceless vintage photographs of Jim "Flash" 1%er Miteff.

As in the first book, Portraits of American Bikers in the 1960s, the photos in Inside Looking Out center on the Outlaws Motorcycle Club. But the images in both books go far beyond a single subject. The stark black-and-white, large-format photographs dissect an entire era the era: the 60s. They grab you with a grip that was much tighter back then, when it comes to the pure abandon and wildness of the motorcycle culture.

Inside Looking Out differs from the first book in its inclusion of some current photos of the OMC. Especially compelling are the then and now images of members who have given decades of their lives to the club. These pictures alone speak much more than a thousand words about the strength and longevity of this brotherhood.

Respectfully compiled by Miteff's daughter, Beverly Roberts, the photos presented are brilliant in their composition, in their intensity, and most importantly in that they are real!

Regional biker history

I bought the original photo book on the Outlaws mc, " The Bike Riders" by Danny Lyons when it came out in 1968. It was a big influence in one way, for it started the thought process that eventually led me to turn my drawing ability into a tattooing career, even though the tattoos depicted were, for the most part, rotten work. The two volumes of this book take the photographic narrative of the Outlaws AT THIS TIME to a more revealing level. All of the pics were taken by a member ( Lyons was a member too) and stored for posterity by his daughter. The Chicago Outlaws were a homegrown midwest organization until they they fell under the influence of California outlaw bikers, though they are now loath to admit it, their now sworn enemys, the Hells Angels. Through the three books ( Four including the photo book on modern day Outlaws, "One Percent"), you can see the transition--- from embroidered movie cowboy shirts with the Outlaws emblem on the back to denim cutoffs with a one piece Outlaws patch, to the now three piece patch on leather vests. From dressers to choppers, and how strange (to me, at least) back to dressers in the outlaw biker world at large. Both books are a fascinating look into a particular time and place in the Biker world. The photography is clear and sharp, the shots well composed. These books (Volumes 1 & 2) will also appeal to photography enthusiasts and people interested in sub cultures in general. To a biker historian, they are no less than fascinating.

Great Photos From a Time Now Lost

I first came across this book at a friends barbershop and loved it! I dig old choppers. Greasy, hand built, death machines and this book captures some great inspiration.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. He loves it!

What I love about this book is it captures not just the bikes, but the culture of the time. This is back before "do rags" and plastic aftermarket skulls, flames, and all that other crap. When dudes built their bikes to be what they wanted them to be. Blood, sweat, and tears. The culture was more of close knit brotherhood instead of a loose association or spirit of brotherhood; you hung with your bros and their families and that was your family. No social media, no internet, no distractions aside from work or your responsibilities.

I highly recommend this book if you love old bikes and biker culture.

If you love oldies you need this book

Scott has written a very fun and comprehensive look at the great oldies we all enjoyed. Makes for fun reading but can also be usefull to any dj or anyone who wants to catogrize thier music collection. Must have for home parties and setting up play lists on your pc, ipad or any digital player.

I have this book and find it quite enjoyable. I love how Scott has categorized the songs. I have found many songs in this book whose titles I could not remember. I found many a song I actually forgot ever existed!!
Great for parties!!! Great for trivia games!!

About the Author This book is based on my first-hand, been-there-done-that experiences. Many people have many great ideas. They just don't act on them. You can do it differently. I worked in the aerospace industry at Cape Canaveral, Florida, for 21 years. Wearing identification badges had always been a part of my working wardrobe. A large aerospace company handed out a lapel pin for a promotion in the spring of 1995. Just by chance, I pinned my company identification badge to the lapel pin. An idea for a better way to wear my identification badge came to me. For several days, I made many drawings and came up with the idea to place a "bar" at the bottom of a lapel pin to accommodate the common bulldog metal clip on identification badges. This enabled me to make badge holders with custom logos for companies or associations and to create many fun designs that would make wearing badges more personal and enjoyable. This was the start of my journey. This book is intended to streamline your own process of taking a product from an idea to reality. Potentially it will expedite the process of putting money into your pocket. I started with my computer and only $500.00. Originally, I had enough rejection letters to wallpaper my home office. Most of the people and companies that rejected me then call me now. To date, we have sold over 3-million CLIPEZE badge holders. They have been sold in over 1,100 uniform stores and 20 catalogs around the world. One sales representative even placed it on the television show ER (the number one rated show in America at the time). We are currently concentrating on penetrating other markets, making gains on Internet sales, and leveraging my ideas into other new products. I often consult with entrepreneurs to help them attain their dreams to bring new products to market from their homes. I started CLIPEZE in the smallest bedroom of my home, moved to a larger bedroom, then finally to over 3,000-square feet of commercial office space. I left my aerospace job and the need to wear my own identification badge for a chance to be my own boss, make my own decisions, and create my own future. REAL information for the start up business

I met Mr. Bronga at a conference a few years ago and he was gracious enough to share a few thoughts and ideas with me regarding a product I wanted to produce. He told me of inventor clubs and prototype makers (who knew such things existed??) I was so excited to see he had now written a book; a book which is chock full of great information for the entrepreneur. If you have a great idea bouncing around in your head you need to get this book.

When I met Mr. Bronga I knew he was the creator and inventor of CLIPEZE, however I did not realize that his product was the same one I had purchased for years as a nurse!! His book explained his marketing concepts and I finally realized it was one in the same.

In "Bringing a Product to Market from Your Home," Mr. Bronga shares comprehensive information for anyone wishing to create a new product for sale. He explains the niche market concept and why it is particularly a good start.

The book is written in a clear, no-nonsense, conversational style and you feel he is sitting along side of you, providing you with good advice and encouragement. He explains the reasons for working from home to help insure success as well as when and how to expand. Bronga provides real life insight into the business such as the long hours, the tedious details, and provides free information that he gathered from his tireless research. He did the work for you. He even provides information on how do to things that I never dreamed were required.

There are tons of business books out there, but Mr. Bronga shares the good, the bad, and the ugly. He doesn't tell you it will all be easy; rather he gives a glimpse into the real life world of this business and the ups and downs that come with it. He even provides a look into the psychological side of running your own business.

I highly recommend Mr. Bronga's book for anyone with an idea they want to produce and market. Put this one on your must have list before you waste tons of time and money on research Bronga as done for you.

"Bringing a Product to Market": achieving the American Dream in easy, bite-sized steps

Think that thingamajig can generate loads of mullah so you can retire, live under the palm trees somewhere and do nothing more vigorous than slurp pina coladas all day? Dream on! "Bringing a Product to Market from Your Home" is a complete roadmap for entrepreneurial types to venture out on a pathway to success, but what author Gary R. Bronga makes clear is that owning your own business is not for the faint-hearted man or woman.

Fortunately, Mr. Bronga provides a comprehensive manual for anyone who has ever dreamed of creating and selling a contraption from an invention's conception to its introduction to the consumer market and beyond. The author's approach is thorough. He does not leave any step for success up to the imagination. He gives us facts, figures, a look at the psychological side of business and actual business forms to use. He even goes into things like predicting next year's hot color!

I particularly love Mr. Bronga's get-up-and-smell the coffee style. How's this for direct? "We live in a rip-off or knock-off society, and most successful products will be copied at a later date, regardless of whether or not they have patent protection."

Or this:

"There is also a hard-to-explain phenomenon in this country. People love the underdog. They do love to see a small guy succeed, but they also love to tear down the large industrial giant or market leader. At times, jealousy comes into play."

Best of all, Mr. Bronga's chitchat style of writing is clear and lively to the point of feeling as if you can hear his voice: prodding, coaching, guiding and inspiring. The author's own story is pure motivation. Here's a glimpse into his journey: "Often, I was in my office working until 7:30 p.m. Then, I was up at 4:45 a.m. to check and answer e-mail."

The end result is that he has accomplished a good livelihood after creating CLIPEZE, a lapel pin for attaching company identification badges. His writing makes it apparent that money has not ruined his zest for living passionately. Don't, however, think he has not experienced a few downsides in business. Mr. Bronga shares freely the ups and the downs and comes out an ace every time.

"Bringing a Product to Market" is real advice for dreamers who have ideas of doodads rolling around in their minds, but who are gutsy enough to give them real life.

He reminds us that the best inventions and products are often the most simple. Niche markets are good, particularly to start out because the inventor can concentrate on a single group. Who knew that prototype makers and manufacturers abound? Who knew about inventor clubs being a treasure trove of information and help? The more you know up front, the better job you do. This book provides that needed information.

Most important, this author did it - with his Clipeaze badge holders that now provide good income. With this book, the mystery is gone, and you know exactly how to tackle each stage of development.

Recommended is keeping your day job as long as possible. Both he and his wife worked tirelessly from his garage as long as possible. Right in line with my Living Cheap & Loving It book, he recommends all sorts of free materials available from listed resources and on the Internet. By operating from home as long as possible, you greatly reduce chances for failure, and most new businesses fail. Yours won't if you pay attention to this book.

High Impact Stillness

"I have to admit, Maria, that Jesus is a compelling figure. His story is extraordinary. I've heard it said that he was either the Son of God, a liar, or a lunatic." So states Jeremy Dillon - son, boyfriend, high school basketball star, and seeker.

In his novel, "All the Stillness of the Wind," author Donald James Parker engages his audience with relevant questions allowing the reader to draw conclusions. Although his protagonists probe the tenets of Christianity, they are far more than dogmatic seekers. Each character is a loving, intelligent soul who questions the foundations of a predominant, if disintegrating, world-wide belief structure.

Christianity is examined in Mr. Parker's fourth novel of his Masterson Family series. Scripture, logic, philosophy, emotion and consequence are attractively braided into this tale of two families: Maria and Lisa Masterson - Jeremy and Paul Dillon. At the heart of Don Parker's story is love and it's manifestations, running the gamut from teen-aged infatuation to the puzzling sacrifice of Christ's passion.

Jeremy and Maria attempt to unravel love's secrets within the boundaries of Christian morality while investigating the truth of God's concern for mankind, examining and discussing all that they encounter in an epic-sized inquiry. Their combined efforts are brought to a halt when Maria's voice is silenced, leaving Jeremy to interpret the mysteries of hope, faith, and his desire for revenge.

I find the issues addressed in this story representative of post-modern America's most fascinating debates: Does God exist? If so, how does that impact me?

If you're looking for direction; if you don't mind hard-hitting arguments for and against Christianity, I suggest you choose quiet time to read "All the Stillness of the Wind." Typical of Don Parker's writing, this book provokes as it entertains. Rich with references, "All the Stillness of the Wind" is communicated with humor and warmth. I recommend this book to all cogent thinkers.

Incredible Read!

"All the Stillness of the Wind" will capture your attention and engage your mind from the very beginning. You'll feel compelled to read on, as you venture into some of life's most asked questions when it comes to faith in God. I'll say this, I set aside Robert Whitlow's latest novel after reading the first chapter of this book because it was incredibly engaging.

Author, Donald James Parker draws you into the characters' lives from the very beginning and you feel as though you know them personally. You'll find yourself discovering answers to questions that have threatened Christianity from its inception. No matter where you are in your "faith walk" this book will cause you to go deeper, to believe more, and to step out in faith and live out your Christian beliefs in order to bring the Good News to others. I truly wish I would have had this book MANY years ago, specifically as a teenager. For that reason, I would HIGHLY recommend this book to young teenagers, new graduates, and it would also make a fantastic gift for church youth groups. Not only does it answer some of the deepest questions that threaten the faith of every believer, but the abundant resources that are mentioned within it would cause anyone to walk away seeking more of God. The author writes in an easy to understand fashion, enabling the message to be communicated in a way that is not difficult to comprehend. He takes the theology of Christianity and breaks it down in such a way that even young readers are able to grasp its depth. The author brilliantly weaves a message of faith into a wonderful story that will draw you nearer to God.

A Must Read!

Eighteen-year-old Jeremy is on a journey but it's not a road trip. He's been attending church lately with his girlfriend, Maria, and wonders about the different religions in this world. He also questions which one is the true religion. Thus begins Jeremy and Maria's quest.

Through reading both the internet, the many books on different religions and Maria's help, Jeremy discovers that Christianity is the one true religion. Now, Jeremy is faced with another question. Which denomination is true to Christianity? After all, there are so many!

Jeremy turns again to the internet and more books for answers. Confusion sets in when Jeremy finds that there are ministers who have turned their backs on Christianity and who are now atheists.

Jeremy and Maria spend New Years Eve at church with their youth group so they can ring in the New Year with their friends. After midnight, the youth group decides to attend a New Years' after-party. Little do Jeremy and Maria know, their New Year will start out with a bang! They're in a terrible car crash that leaves Maria in a coma.

Why did God let this happen? Jeremy's question is answered when, just a few days later, Maria has a miraculous recovery that the doctors can't explain. They say that because of the shape Maria was in, she should have emerged from the coma with some damage.

At first I was a little put off by the links to Christian websites throughout the book. After wondering "why", the answer slowly dawned on me. It's for any reader who has the same questions that Jeremy does. These links give the reader a starting point for his journey.

I loved this book and highly recommend it! `All The Stillness of The Wind' should be not only in every church library but in every personal library as well.
